Performs administrative and accounting support. Preparing and maintaining records and files, entering data related to all aspects necessary for payment of accounts payable, assisting the public, receives and processes incoming calls, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Treasurer.
Serve as Clerk to Town Council and Secretary to the Commission and Board; works with Town Manager to prepare and distribute meeting agendas and packets; attend all town meetings, Becomes familiar with Grottoes Town Code and Virginia State Code. Clerk of Council is an appointed position by the Town Council.
High school diploma or GED with coursework in accounting, or related field and moderate experience in accounting, customer service, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Parks & Tourism Department is hiring for multiple positions of Head Lifeguard for the spring/summer of 2025. Lifeguards are a part-time hourly position with a hiring pay rate of $16.00/hour. Primary responsibility is to maintain swimmer safety, monitor water conditions and guest behavior to safeguard and protect the pool patrons. Responsibilities also include general maintenance work to assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment. Provides general supervision of lifeguards, and oversees water rescues, and safety procedures in the prevention of injuries and emergency situations at the pool facility. Work is performed under the direction of the Pool Manager.

Lifeguards are a part-time hourly position with a hiring pay rate of $15.00/hour with an opportunity for higher pay based on experience. Primary responsibility is to maintain swimmer safety, monitor water conditions and guest behavior to safeguard and protect the pool patrons. Responsibilities also include general maintenance work to assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment. Work is performed under the direction of the Head Lifeguard and Pool Manager. Lifeguard certification available in-house with Pool Manager.

Part time, Seasonal
The Parks & Tourism Department is hiring for the position Park Ranger I. Park Ranger I are a part-time hourly position or seasonally full-time hourly position with a hiring pay rate of $16.00/hour plus gratuity. Primary responsibilities are to assist in the operations of Grand Caverns Park and in the execution of interpretive programing. Park Ranger 1 will primarily conduct tours for Grand Caverns Park caves, including Adventure/Spelunking Tours, but will also assist in park operations at Town Parks. This will include giftshop/front desk, special events, assisting park visitors and maintenance work. May serve on internal committees and advisory boards as assigned. Work is performed under the direction of the Parks Coordinator and Parks/Tourism Assistant Director.
