Accounting Technician/ Clerk of Council

Full Time

SALARY:DOQ/DOE (+) benefits.

Performs administrative and accounting support. Preparing and maintaining records and files, entering data related to all aspects necessary for payment of accounts payable, assisting the public, receives and processes incoming calls, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Treasurer.

Serve as Clerk to Town Council and Secretary to the Commission and Board; works with Town Manager to prepare and distribute meeting agendas and packets; attend all town meetings, Becomes familiar with Grottoes Town Code and Virginia State Code. Clerk of Council is an appointed position by the Town Council.

High school diploma or GED with coursework in accounting, or related field and moderate experience in accounting, customer service, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
